SSE students grew, harvested, and prepared this Halloween Harvest Feast, from the pumpkins, potatoes and garlic in the soup, to the rosemary and parsley in the biscuits, to the purple popcorn dance snacks, and they pressed apple juice, too!
Big thanks to Island Savings Community Endowment, Whole Kids Foundation, and Presidents Choice Power Full Kids Grant for funding SSE’s garden and food program this fall.
Our wonderful community helped this feast happen, from Bullock Lake Farm, Dos Amores Tortilleria and Nellies Kitchen, to Salt Spring Kitchen Co, to apple farmers Ky Fox and Michelle, Salty Pear, Richard Stevenson, and Laughing Apple Farm!
Kudos to the amazing parent volunteers, teachers and SSE staff for creating such a fun, healthy, and memorable event for our kids!
And thank you Linda McDaniels for this awesome video capturing the spirit of the event!
